This January 2010 more than 1,000 New Yorkers will be coming together to bring compassion and care to those living on the streets. The Rescue Alliance will be recruiting people to help bring clothes, food, blankets, shelter and a new home to homeless men and women of New York.
Last year we were able to walk 6,718 blocks and engage over 1,200 homeless men, women and children. We hope that you would consider donating your time this year to help us ensure that the Don’t Walk By 2010 Campaign will be a huge success.
For the 2010 outreach, we are looking for three different types of volunteers:
- Engagement Volunteers who will walk the streets of New York looking for homeless men, women and children and offer them the opportunity to come back to an anchor church for a hot meal, shower and a bed.
